Scripture Power

At the beginning of the school year, we committed to begin having family scripture study every morning before the kids leave for school.  What seemed an insurmountable task, has now become a routine that is ingrained in our family.  I'm happy to report that unless someone was sick in bed, or not at home, we have been really really good.  We are reading the Book of Mormon together and it has been perfect since that's what we are studying in church this year.  It is such a blessing to be able to read from HIS word and I can't think of a more wonderful way to start our day.  Each family member will read one or two verses depending on the length and how much time we have.  Hopefully we can increase that as they get a little older even.  Scripture reading is followed by a family prayer and then hugs and kisses before I send the kids off to school.  I have seen the blessings of this time in our family.  The kids are usually ready and waiting with either ipod or paper scriptures in hand.  It's so cool too now that all the kids can read really well and need very little help to pronounce words, even the hard ones!  Proud of our family and the commitment to make scripture reading a priority in our family!
