Impromptu Trip to Fresno during Spring Break

With spring break in progress and Chris working a ton, the kids and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Fresno.  Truth be told, I had been worried about my Dad.  He had been complaining of memory loss, forgetting things, not wanting to drive because he was afraid he would get lost.  Based on that and some other symptoms he'd been having, I had myself convinced that he was in the early stages of either Alzheimer's or Dementia.  I decided to go down to Fresno for myself and check things out.  It turned out to be a very enjoyable visit.  The kids and I spent time with my parents, Chris' parents, their cousins and Aunt and Uncles.  We ate at DiCicco's (a must if you're going to make the trip), Dog House Grill and all our other favorites.  I also took the kids, along with Aunt Steph and their other cousins, to the trampoline place, Sky Walk.  The kids had a wonderful time in Fresno and it was good to see everyone.  It had been awhile since we had made the trip.  Grant even had a chance to use the drone he got for Christmas.  It's one that goes in the water, so Grandma and Grandpa Sly's pool was the perfect place to try it out.  We even dyed easter eggs with Grandma and helped Grandpa break in his new table top air hockey game.  The kids did really great on the car ride to and from and I'm always proud that I did it by myself.  I hate driving, honestly!  I can't even imagine how I used to do it when I worked and had to travel long distances in the car all by myself!  It was good to be back home and Chris was glad to have us back.  He said he slept terribly.  I told him we did too.  Especially Morgan and I.  We were sleeping in the front room and Morgan said to me one morning, "Mom, why did you turn on the light if its not time to get up?"   I had to explain to her that it wasn't the light in the room, but rather the sunlight that comes blasting in through the giant window in the front bedroom at Grandma's house.  Hopefully one of these days, Grandma will decide on a window treatment or shutters that will provide some coverage.  hahahaha! She has had sheets covering that window for years now.
